About us
At Wagtail Equine Therapy CIC, we believe in the healing power of horses. Our horse-led therapy is open to everyone—regardless of background, ability, or financial circumstances.
As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, every penny we make is reinvested into our services and outreach, helping us break down barriers and make equine therapy truly accessible to all.
Why Horses?
Horses have a special way of helping people feel better – inside and out.
Their calm, gentle nature and ability to sense emotions make them amazing partners for therapy. Spending time with horses can help reduce anxiety, boost confidence, improve communication, and even support physical recovery.
It’s not just a feeling; there is real science behind it, along with countless stories of people whose lives have changed through working with horses.
Making Equine Therapy Accessible
Sadly, for many people, spending time with horses just isn’t an option. The cost, lack of local facilities, or physical and practical challenges can make it feel out of reach.
That’s where Wagtail Equine Therapy CIC comes in.
We are here to break down those barriers, making equine therapy more inclusive, more affordable, and more available to the people who need it most. Our sessions are founded in kindness, backed by research, and open to everyone.
A Space for Everyone
At Wagtail Equine Therapy CIC, our community comes first. We’re committed to making our therapy sessions accessible, inclusive, and designed to create lasting impact.
We welcome people of all ages and abilities – from those managing stress or anxiety to individuals with additional needs or disabilities.
Our programmes are tailored to each person, providing a safe and supportive space where they can grow in confidence, develop emotional awareness, and build meaningful connections, with themselves, with others, and of course, with our horses.
Meet the Founders
Wagtail Equine Therapy CIC was started by Mollie Mcilvaney (Left) and Lauren Saunders (Right), two people who truly believe in the healing power of horses.
What began as a shared passion has grown into something much bigger: a movement to make equine therapy part of the wider conversation about mental health and wellbeing.
It’s not just about the horses, it’s about creating real, lasting change in people’s lives.
