Horse Care Programme

Connect, Learn, and Grow Through Caring for Horses.

Are you looking to build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore a future working with animals?

The Wagtail Equine Therapy CIC Horse Care Programme offers a unique opportunity to spend time with our horses in a calm, supportive environment. Designed for young people (14+) and adults, especially those who are neurodivergent, unemployed or have learning difficulties, these sessions combine hands-on horse care with wellbeing and personal development.

What You’ll Do

Each 2 hour session includes simple, structured activities to help you connect with the horses and yourself:

  • Stable Routines – learn daily horse care tasks like feeding, mucking out, and grooming.
  • Horse Communication – understand horse moods and body language to build trust and confidence.
  • Therapeutic Tasks – gentle, purposeful activities to support mental and physical health.
  • Building Life Skills: Develop routine, reliability, and teamwork while enjoying the outdoors

No prior experience with horses is needed – just willingness to take part and learn
