Group Equine Therapy Sessions

Share the experience of equine therapy in a small, supportive group. Each session combines hands-on activities with space for reflection, helping you build confidence and connect with others.

Who it’s for

Children, young people and adults who would like to improve their mental health and wellbeing, or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

What to expect

Our group sessions are designed to be gentle, supportive and led at your pace. Each session is guided by a trained practitioner and includes:

Group Check-In

We start with fun ice-breakers and a short discussion to set goals or intentions for the session.

Team-Based Horse Activities

Working in pairs or small teams, you’ll:

  • Lead horses together
  • Navigate obstacle courses with communication and teamwork
  • Support and encourage each other

Observation & Reflection

You’ll also spend time watching how the horses interact as a herd. We explore:

  • What their behaviour might be showing us
  • How this relates to our own feelings or relationships

Group Discussion or Journaling

To finish, we reflect on:

  • What the horses mirrored back to us
  • What we noticed or learned about ourselves

This can be through open discussion or quiet journaling, whichever feels best for the group.
